Maya Marguerite Annie Angelou known as Maya was a famous poet, writer and civil rights activist. Josephine Freda Josephine McDonald, known as Josephine Baker was an American-born French singer, dancer and the first black woman to appear in a major motion picture. Gloria  Gloria Marie Steinem is a political and social activist, distinguished authors and leader of the feminist movement in the late 1960's. Rosa Rosa Louise McCauley Parks is perhaps best known for her involvement in the Montgomery Bus Boycott and was an inspiring civil rights activist.
